Tradition and innovation come together to ensure iodine's needs

Caseificio Giordano has improved its fresh cheese recipes, eliminating common salt and replacing it with Presal®. Presal® is the Italian sea salt iodized protected produced by Caber. The use of iodized salt Presal® keeps the iodine level in our products, even after their cooking.

Iodine is not produced naturally by the body, but it is an important element. It is important because it contributes to the growth of children, It helps the development of cognitive function and proper metabolism functioning. It also contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and the production of thyroid hormones. These are the conclusions set out in Regulation (EU) No. 432/2012 Commission signed on May 16th, 2012 and about health indications on food.

The Caseificio Giordano's mozzarella fior di latte, buffalo milk mozzarella and ricotta cheese prepared whit Presal® guarantee, every 100 g of product consumed, a coverage of over 20% of the daily iodine need. This the reason why they are marked with the logo issued by the Italian Ministry of Health.
